Splitz are a registered charity based in Wiltshire but delivering services across the Southwest. As the commissioned service in Devon we support adults and young people who are or have recently experienced domestic abuse.

Devon - Community Worker (BAME Communities)

We are looking for two part time Community workers to work with Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Communities. This role is an exciting new development within our service and will suit someone with commitment and enthusiasm, who is keen to find effective ways to reduce and eliminate ethnic inequalities in the provision of service and in the outcomes achieved by victims of domestic abuse. The role is based in our Exeter office and you will be part of an experienced team providing high quality advice, guidance and support to victims of domestic violence enabling them to live safely.

You should have proven experience of working within community development preferably within the BAME communities and of support work, along with knowledge of domestic abuse issues. The ability to speak another language, particularly from Eastern Europe will be an advantage. You will also have excellent communication and networking skills. You will also need to have access to a car, along with business use insurance cover.

Splitz Support Service is focused on strategic and sustainable growth, to ensure that we are able to maintain and develop the delivery of our high quality services to families experiencing domestic abuse and sexual violence.

We have a strong track record of securing income from Trusts and Foundations and operate countywide contracts on behalf of a number of local authorities. Our five year strategic plan identifies the need to continue to attract funding from existing pathways, as well as the development of additional and more diverse income sources to support our current services and new innovations.

The Business Development Manager is key to achieving our ambitions and to developing and communicating ‘The Splitz Way’. Working closely with the Executive Director and other senior managers, the primary focus of this role will be to support the growth and development of Splitz Support Service by ensuring that we have a consistency of approach across all of our services, along with robust performance management, quality assurance and effective marketing, coupled with successful income generation and fundraising.

We are seeking an enthusiastic person with excellent leadership skills who can help take Splitz into the future as a robust organisation and bring knowledge, skills and experience to our senior management team. The successful candidate will have proven management experience, an understanding of strategic planning and be an effective communicator.

The role requires an understanding of the voluntary sector in delivering services, along with excellent communication, engagement and influencing skills with all our stakeholders. Also the ability to build new partnerships across the voluntary, statutory and private sectors to further our mission in strengthening our community position.

We are looking for candidates to co-ordinate and deliver our Building Bridges project in Wiltshire. You will be working directly with service users and partners, overseeing and reporting on project outcomes, and line managing a Project Assistant. Building Bridges is a partnership project, which identifies vulnerable people who are unemployed and supports them into training or employment. The project is jointly funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund.

You will need experience of working in partnership with other agencies, staff at all levels and volunteers, as well as strong interpersonal, administrative and IT skills. You will need to be self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Excellent organisational and communication skills, with an ability to see the bigger picture while paying attention to detail, are essential. Some experience of supervising the work of others is desirable. Experience of working with vulnerable people and knowledge of the impact of domestic abuse is essential. This significant opportunity is funded for one year with the possibility of extension subject to funding.

As part of our exciting service, The Phoenix Project, which offers integrated Domestic Abuse support across Wiltshire and Sexual Violence support across Wiltshire and Swindon, we are looking for a Family Support Worker for 30 hours a week who will be co-located between our Trowbridge office and the Support and Safeguarding team in Salisbury, the role will be expected to cover South Wiltshire. You will be part of an experienced team providing high quality advice, guidance and support to families (both adult victims and their children).

You will be expected to provide a peripatetic high quality, whole family approach, to support adult victims and their families who are experiencing domestic abuse, enabling them to increase their safety and make positive choices for the future including undertaking robust risk assessments and implementing robust safety management plans as well as giving practical, emotional, support to families who are experiencing domestic abuse in the community.

You should have proven experience and qualifications in support work with knowledge of domestic abuse issues and also have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You will also need a full driving licence, business insurance and access to a car.

Volunteer Telephone Advisors - Phoenix Project

Volunteer Telephone Advisors are being sought by Splitz Support Service to help support clients with various issues they face around domestic abuse. No previous experience or qualifications are required. Full training and ongoing support will be provided. The role will be based at the Splitz head office in Trowbridge. All volunteers will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Volunteers will be expected to commit to a minimum of 4 hours a week – days and times to be mutually agreed.
