Local Democracy In Action
We have been discussing our plans for one to one and group support for children affected by domestic abuse with Area Boards in Corsham and Melksham. Our Young People's Service for young people in those areas has been boosted with grants of £2,500 and £4,075 respectively.
A Big Thank You to Local Funders!
Two local funders have recently made generous contributions to our work: Trowbridge Town Council have given us £500 toward the Buddy Scheme so our wonderful volunteers can keep giving emotional support; the William "Doc" Couch Trust has granted £3,000 toward our workshops at Newburn House.
Latest Info on the Buddy Scheme

The Buddy Scheme is a mentoring and befriending service which currently has 1 project coordinator and 16 trained volunteer mentors (or buddies) who, after receiving full training from us, each support between one and three service users at any one time. They do this in the form of weekly, one to one visits in the service user’s home for around an hour. Usually these relationships last for around 4 – 5 months, but this is very much an average and we have relationships which can be a good deal longer or shorter.
