Supporting Families and Individuals

At Splitz we aim to work with our service users to help them identify, come to terms with and overcome their difficulties.

We work holistically with individuals who are eligible for our help. We recognise that many people are likely to have additional issues other than the presenting problems. Trust is developed between the service user and their named support worker to ensure that they have the right level of support to deal with their personal challenges and move towards achieving and sustaining independence.

Various levels of support can be provided on a ‘one to one’ basis initially. The service user is empowered to identify their needs and agree the support needed from their worker. This support agreement is regularly reviewed as issues are dealt with and overcome.

Group initiatives are available at certain times and service users are encouraged to participate when they are ready. Attending group initiatives is, of course, optional but extremely beneficial. We may refer service users to our Buddy Scheme when they have reached the point where they need only low-level support. The Buddy Scheme is a mentoring service provided by volunteers.
